Today’s post is short and sweet, but our Scots word is anything but. (I know, I know, ending a sentence on a preposition is bad. It’s allowed when it’s a stylistic choice. ?)

Today’s Things in Scots is: Carnaptious.

Carnaptious (also curnaptious, carnapshus) means irritable, quarrelsome, bad-tempered.

Here’s an example of carnaptious in use:

He’s a carnaptious wee nyaff.

In Inglis: He’s a bad-tempered, small, worthless person.
