Troon: Where the Sky Meets the Sea

Hello there!

It’s getting colder here in Scotland, so I thought I’d share some summer shots for my husband, Jez’s Water, Water Everywhere (WWE) challenge to pretend it’s not so 🥶 that I’m chitterin because my poor wee toes feel frozen.

Summer days by the seaside hold a special kind of magic, don’t they? Today, I’m bringing you a slice of that magic with a few shots taken on one of our many trips out to Troon on the West Coast of Scotland.

The expansive calm of the sea under the clear blue sky was a treat for the soul, and I hope it’ll be the same for you.

Troon’s Infinite Horizon

The serene meeting of sky and sea at Troon—a gentle embrace of blue on blue, with the tranquil waters whispering tales of distant shores.

A Miraculous Sighting at Troon Beach

If you squint really hard, you’ll see a figure on the horizon, walking on the water—yes, that’s Jez! Okay, he found himself a sandbar, but it still caught a few folk by surprise. Who knew I was married to a miracle worker, eh? 😄

Summer’s Gentle Farewell for Troon

And finally, it’s time to bid a soft adieu to a beautiful summer spent visiting Troon.

Photos like these allow us to hold onto the warmth, the light, and the feeling of sand between our toes long after the season has folded its golden arms. They remind us of days when the world feels a little kinder, a wee bit more whimsical. And who couldn’t use a touch of whimsy now and then?

Over to You

I love hearing your stories, so feel free to share your beach day memories or miraculous-like moments in the comments.

Wishing you all the wonder of a beach walk, wherever you may find it.

Stay whimsical,

Susan

That looks positively Mediterranean, Susan! We quite often take the kids to Irvine beach – glorious views over to Arran as you’ll know!

I love Irvine Beach–it’s a wee bittie too busy near the carparks, but a mile or so walk along the sand, and ahhh, so peaceful. The views out to Arran are definitely worth the drive down!

Ah, like photographs of a distant land at the moment, isn’t it? Still, the frost looks lovely in the morning sun at the moment!
