Embark on a Creative Mission: Introducing the ‘Spies, Lies, and Digital Skies’ Art Challenge

Eeee! I’m so thrilled to unveil an exciting new challenge on the blog: the “Spies, Lies, and Digital Skies” digital art challenge. After playing around with DALL-E for the last six months and marvelling at the amazing artwork that can be created, I got to wondering about all the fantastic spy-infused romantic suspense images others might create. So, I created this weekly challenge to lure you and your artistic side out into the open.

What’s the Mission?

At the start of each month, I’ll provide four romance/spy-themed prompts—one for each week that you can check out on the challenge page. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just dabbling in digital art, these prompts are your gateway to unleashing your creativity and exploring the intriguing world of romance, suspense, and espionage through digital art.

So, What’s Digital Art?

For this challenge, digital art is any image you’ve created using Photoshop, AI-based tools like DALL-E, or digital painting apps like Procreate or Artrage (I love both of these!). All that matters is that you’ve been part of the creation process–yes, coming up with that elaborate DALL-E or Hot Mods prompt counts.

How to Participate:

  • Create your artwork based on the weekly prompt.
  • Share it on your blog and link back to that week’s post, or post it on Instagram/Twitter using #SLDSart and tag me @susbraithwaite. (Or, do both!)
  • Engage with a community of like-minded creators and see your work featured on the blog!

Sneak Peek at January’s Prompts

I wanted to give you a headstart on the first load of prompts so you can let them sit in your creative brain while you enjoy the run-up to 2024.

Why Join?

This challenge is more than just an artistic endeavour; it’s a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community. It’s a chance to connect, share, and inspire each other with our visions of a world filled with mystery, romance, and espionage.

Sounds like fun. I will have to improvise as I don’t have many people photos so a few nature shots may be used instead ?

Thanks, Brian! Oh, that sounds intriguing. Jez has images of Wallabies having a secret meeting in his head. I can’t wait to see what you come up with ?

That sounds fun. It seems a bit difficult for me but I will enjoy other people who use digital art on Instagram.

Thanks, Chris! Hopefully, one day, you’ll be able to give DALL-E a shot–you use text to describe what you want to see, and it creates it. Until then, I’m so happy to have you cheering us on ??
