I’m Susan Tippett Braithwaite, a Scottish author who loves weaving suspense and romance into gripping stories. With a background in the military and screenwriting, I bring a vivid and authentic touch to my novels.
My Writing Journey
Born and raised in Scotland, my love for storytelling began early. My journey took me from the North East coast of Scotland to the Royal Navy, where I served until an injury ended my career. Always looking for the silver lining, I discovered UCLA Extension’s screenwriting program and dove right in. Realising that movie scripts filled with romance and suspense were rarely made into movies, I segued into the book world where my favourite genre was not only a thing but loved by others.
What I Write
I started my fiction journey with The Carmichaels, an erotica novelette duo. As much as I loved writing those steamy stories, my heart yearned to add the pulse-pounding adventure I infused my screenplays with. So, I set about creating a series that combines spies, my favourite hero type, and flaming hot beyond-the-bedroom-door scenes that I love writing.
The Deniable Unit Series
I created my upcoming series, The Deniable Unit (DU), by combining my favourite aspects of the romance and erotica genres.
The series features elite operatives on high-stakes missions, complete with modern-day Scottish heroes, the adrenaline-pumping world of espionage, and the fierce heroines who make them fall hard. Expect heart-pounding action, sizzling romance, and heroes who never back down.
Current Projects
I’m excited to announce that I’m currently working on “No Second Chances,” an exclusive novella that will introduce the Deniable Unit Series to my newsletter subscribers. The first DU novel, “Waves of Deception,” and the second, “Running the Asset,” are also in the works.
