Hi! I’m Scottish author Susan Tippett Braithwaite. I craft romantic suspense stories featuring Sex, Lies, Scots & Spies where danger and desire meet with explosive results.
Wise words!
Susan,
Chris is unwell, She had a stroke but is making good progress, but wont be round for a while. I Will keep in touch and she will be back soon. Cliff and Chris.
Hi Cliff.
I’m so sorry to hear about Chris. I can’t imagine the worry you’ve been going through. Thank you for reaching out and letting me know.
I’m glad to hear that she’s making good progress, and I’m sure she’ll be back to her firecracker ways once she’s ready. Please let her know that both Jez and I wish her a complete and speedy recovery.
Remember to take time to look after yourself, Cliff.
Thinking of you both, and I look forward to hearing how Chris is doing along the line.
Take care, Susan.
Q: How do you spell the sound of a whip cracking?
A: The sound is generally referred to as the crack of a whip or a whip crack, and since crack is already onomatopoeic, you can’t go wrong with it. Crack!
The whip is down for the moment, but it’ll be cracking again in a week or so.
On the subject of onomatopoeia, whip is also one. Well, it is in the Scots language. We sound the ‘wh’ on a harsh breath and the ‘p’ is hit hard. (Think Stewie from Family Guy saying Wil Wheaton or Cool Whip.)
Interestink! ?
Will Wheaton. Hmm, didn’t he play… someone on Star Trek? I should know this – I’m friends with him on Goodreads. ?
Ooo, that’s quite the claim to fame! According to Big Bang, he played a character called Wesley Crusher.
Yeah, that’s him. A young whipper snapper as I remember. ?
He’s older now.
By the way, what’s Big Bang?
It’s The Big Bang Theory, a TV show. I’m just lazy and can’t be bothered to say the whole name ?
Oh yeah, I watched the first six (or so) series of that. I’m currently waiting for someone to buy me the box set of all the episodes so that I can binge-watch it all. 😀
