Author Journal 15th February 2023

Hiya 👋

Hiya!

This is going to be a short but sweet update. (I’m actually on holiday for the next week and totally forgot to say so in the last post.)

I was in pre-holiday brain mode for the whole of last week. Well, that’s apart from when I injured my left arm on Saturday, leaving me with non-functional arms for the rest of the week. I used Whisper.ai to transcribe my notes 😁

Review 30th January – 5th February 2023

Last week’s goals were:

  • Fix the Dani knock-on effects
  • Reflect fixes in scene-blocking sheets
  • Finish writing Adam’s at the Door scene
  • Write The Bathroom scene
  • Write The Meet scene

Here’s How It Went

I fixed all of the knock-on effects of Dani’s reduced presence in Act One and made all the changes to the blocking sheets (including finding more bits to cut. Yay for reducing the word count!).

The Bathroom scene is done. The Meet scene is almost done—luckily, I was able to steal some of my original content from last year for it. And the Adam’s at the Door scene is almost done.

I’m delighted with what I achieved last week, considering all I wanted to do was focus on Jez’s birthday preparations.

This Week’s Goal

  • Take full advantage of the break.
  • Visit a cat cafe (c’mon, who wouldn’t want to do that?) 😻
  • Enjoy a long walk along the River Clyde.

I’ll be back on 1st March with a new set of goals and hopefully a freshly filled creative well.

Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you all a great week.
