The Book that Changed My Thinking

Today’s prompt from D65’s 7 Posts 7 Days challenge is: A book/film that has changed the way that you think.

I have to say, that’s a tough one to answer. Before books and movies, my first love was music. A band called James really shaped my thinking about life, love, and politics. One song that really struck a chord with me was Government Walls. As a kid who grew up in Scotland while Thatcher used us as guinea pigs for her cruel policies, this song really upped my scrutiny of those in power.

Return to Christmas by Anne Stuart — Review

Okay, so this is a quick review of Return to Christmas by one of my favorite authors, Anne Stuart.

Let me start off by saying this is a time-travel story. I don’t tend to read time-travel books–apart from the ones by my wonderful clients. If I’m in the mood for a historical setting, I pick up a historical romance. But this book twisted things a bit by setting it in 1947–it’s not a historical setting I read, but man I loved it because of the time-travel.

ICYMI: New Anne Stuart Release!

Yesterday I got one of the many Amazon emails about books I might like. Most of the offerings in the sales lists are outwith my preferred genres, and I was about to delete the email without reading it. But because it had Anne Stuart‘s name in the subject line, I opened it.

I assumed it was going to be a reminder of the few books I hadn’t bought from her backlist–yet. Whoa, was I in for a surprise. This email was a new release announcement.
