Author Journal: Navigating Writing Challenges, Unexpected Twists, and Empowering Progress

10th-16th August 2023

Hiya there!

I hope this post finds you well and ready to conquer a new week. It’s time to grab your beverage of choice and get comfy while I regale you with another tale of the ups and down of my writing journey.

That Time Thing

There weren’t enough hours in the day for me last week. Time seemed to slip through my fingers, and before I knew it, I was racing against the clock to complete Action Step 6 (AS6) for Acts One and Two A of Running the Asset. You know how it goes – sometimes the days blend, and deadlines sneak up on you faster than anticipated.

In my editing guide, AS6 is all about creating a brand-new outline document incorporating all the recent changes for Running the Asset.

Behold the many Action Steps

I’d given myself a wee bit extra time to tackle the first half of the story, considering I had some related reading to catch up on. Surprisingly, I managed to breeze through the task much faster than anticipated. And let me tell you, as someone who reads every word aloud in their head, that was a pleasant surprise.

Unexpected Twists

However, just as I was gearing up to dive headfirst into AS6, life threw a curveball my way – a pesky issue with my washing machine. Isn’t it funny how these household mishaps always strike at the most inconvenient times? Instead of attacking my writing with gusto, I was armed with a plunger and bucket, grappling with the washing machine debacle. The struggle consumed most of my attention and energy for the remainder of the week, leaving me in work-mode limbo.

Wee Victories

But hey, let’s not dwell on the setbacks. The good news is that while the washing machine situation isn’t entirely resolved, it shows signs of improvement (fingers crossed, right?). Amid this chaos, I pulled off a small victory – completing AS6 for the first two acts. It was a close call, but I firmly believe that progress is possible even in the midst of chaos.

Dual-wielding document holders like a pro!

And guess what? The story is evolving beautifully. The first half of the new outline exceeds my expectations, and I’m thrilled to say that good chunks of material from the rough draft are salvageable. Major win! 😎

Ahead into Next Week

As for this week, I’m sticking with the slightly lighter workload strategy–completing AS6 for Acts Two B and Three. Life has taught me that flexibility is vital, especially when unexpected events have a knack for barging in uninvited. With a few appointments on my schedule and the haunting memory of the plumbing fiasco, I’ve decided to leave room for potential interruptions. Additionally, I’m creating an action plan for those lingering household tasks that I’ve conveniently forgotten about – the kind that could become issues.

How About You?

But enough about me – I want to know your plans for the upcoming week! What endeavours are you diving into? What challenges are you determined to conquer? Drop me a line in the comments below – let’s inspire and motivate each other to keep pushing forward.

Closing Thoughts

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and sharing this writing journey with me. Remember, no matter the obstacles in our way, we’ve got the power to overcome them and do something amazing. Until next time, stay awesomes! 🚀

I get it, sometimes we’re too busy to read a whole blog post, but we still want to keep up with what’s happening. That’s why I’ve used some nifty AI (ChatGPT, but I call her Gabbie) to give you a quick summary.

AI-Generated Post Summary

So, Susan was in a bit of a rush last week but still managed to finish her task. But guess what? Her plans got messed up by a washing machine problem! Can you believe it? Anyway, even with all that going on, she still made good progress on her writing project and salvaged some stuff from the rough draft. Looking forward, they’re gonna be ready to roll with the punches and deal with any unexpected stuff that comes her way. She wants you to share your plans and challenges for the week ahead, reminding you that nothing can stop you if you put your mind to it!
